RESPONDING TO THE REAL JESUS - PASTOR ED CALDERON
RESPONDING TO THE REAL JESUS
John 1:1-18
During my medical school years I started to be totally amazed at the processes
involved in human reproduction. My OB professor was so artistic she uses art in
demonstrating conception, fetal growth and the anatomical changes that follows it by
using different colored chalks on the board ( yes, we didn’t have any computers then).
So few really understand anything about how delicate God’s design is of human life, I
thought.
Human life is a continuum; it has no beginning. It grows and progresses in a continuous
connected series, step by step, generation into generation. And in its progression there
is absolutely no point or place along the way at which a beginning may be detected or
could possibly exist; such is the nature of continua and the nature of human life.
Yet, the human individual clearly has a beginning. That beginning is at birth upon
separation from the female parent, who throughout gestation retains the identity and
singularity for exactly who he/she is, a responsible human individual. After birth
though, that life has one responsibility in order to fully be in that cycle of continuum,
the cycle of life and death.
To most who do not perceive the truth, death is nothing but the end. But to those who
understand God’s complete design, death is the beginning of “life”.
For generations man is always searching for the truth yet never coming to the
knowledge of the truth. In our society it’s popular to be searcher for the truth, but it is
not popular to be a proclaimer of The Truth.
John’s Gospel clearly exposes that truth which is in Jesus Christ.
Life is a continuum, it’s beginning as we understand it is from conception, it’s “end” as
we know it is not 6 feet below the ground, rather God’s design is for us to join Him in
heaven for eternity. In order to achieve that though is through Christ alone, - “12 Yet to
all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become
children of God—13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a
husband’s will, but born of God.” John 1:12-13
